1) The Petticoats is one woman, German singer and instrumentalist Stef Petticoat. Additionally, Stef Petticoat sings and plays guitar in the following bands: Necessary Evil, Petticoat/Crash, Amy and the Angels, 69 LIES (here under the name STEF PUSSYCOAT).

2) The Petticoats were a female pop band who put out the Surfin' Sally b/w Why Does Billy Play In Your Yard? 45 on Challenge Records in 1963.
