Balil has been played on NTS over 20 times, featured on 21 episodes and was first played on 16 July 2015.

Balil is the solo project of Ed Handley. Handley was once part of the trio The Black Dog along with Andrew Turner & Ken Downie. Handley & Turner left to pursue their Plaid project, with Downie continuing on with different lineups of The Black Dog.
