Based in Chicago, The Eternals formed in the summer of 1997. The band consists of Damon Locks (vocals, keys, effects)and Wayne Montana (bass, keys) both formerly of the band, Trenchmouth, with drummer Tim Mulvenna who has performed with many Chicago avant-jazz musicians including Ken Vandermark. Past drummers include John Herndon (Tortoise) and Dan Fliegel. The band's sound is a combination of deep dub, 70s rockers reggae, hip-hop, electro, tropicalia, ambient noise, and art-rock while maintaining a strong punk ethos. The Eternals have three full length albums and two twelve inch singles on the Aesthetics label. Their first two twelve inch singles were released on Chicago's Thrill Jockey Records.
The Eternals were a fine group that released just three records in their brief, but exciting career. They were from the Bronx, and included Charlie Girona on lead, first tenor Fred Hodge, Ernie Sierra as second tenor, baritone Arnie Torres and Alex Miranda with the distinctive bass voice. They were originally called the Gleamers, and the Orbits.

Jamaican trio founded by Cornell Campbell, Errol Wilson & Kenroy Fyffe in late 1968 until around 1972.
