Girl Pusher is the collaborative project by Jarrod Hine (aka RESIGN) and Gabby Giuliano (aka HAKU). The band’s cacophonous sound takes elements from almost every facet of the harsher corners of electronic music. The cut “Red was the Color of the Candle” is perhaps their most technically complex song to date, with Gabby and drummer/producer Jarrod Hine shoving ideas against each other under a dark pulsating musical sequence. A flurry of glitchy, heavy synth patterns combined with hard-hitting distorted cross rhythms creates this dissonant, syncopated landscape that’s the perfect breeding ground for the raw, intimidating vocals that are ever-present in the band’s unique sound.
