Cortisa Star (born July 11, 2005) is an American rapper and model. She is a transgender woman and gained recognition for her 2024 single "Fun," which went viral on Twitter and TikTok. Star began releasing music after posting a video in 2022 jokingly calling herself an "underground rap princess," despite having no prior experience in rapping. Her early singles "Cortisa Crump" and "Fun" were both released in February 2024, followed by "Bad ASF" in December 2024. By the end of that year, she had released eleven songs. Her music gained attention from artists such as Charli XCX and producer Loraine James after a viral performance of "Fun" on the YouTube channel 4 Shooters Only.
On March 11, 2025, Star made her runway debut for Miu Miu during the final day of Paris Fashion Week, an experience she later referenced in her track "Paris."
Musically, Star’s work features heavy bass, with influences from hyperpop and drill. She has stated that some of her bass inspiration came from a scene in the animated series Adventure Time. Her stage name combines a reference to her deadname with her interest in space. Critics have described her music as featuring explicit lyrics and a bold, carefree attitude, with outlets such as The Fader characterizing her style as "bubbly blown-out drill" and PinkNews noting it as "bombastic and risqué."
