Len Lye, born Leonard Charles Huia Lye (5 July 1901, Christchurch, New Zealand - 15 May 1980, Warwick, New York), was a New Zealand-born artist known primarily for his experimental films and kinetic sculpture.

Len Lye sings from fetal memory. With the aimlessness of a child, his vocal melodies weave between thoughtful chord progressions, offering a glimpse of an intimately familiar yet simultaneously unknowable world. Len roars with the desperate honesty of Neutral Milk Hotel, Beirut, and Jeff Buckley, with a whisper of Leslie Feist and exhibits exploratory songwriting, warping popular music along the likes of David Bowie.
