Pacific!

Pacific!

Pacific! has been played on NTS in shows including Mamiko Motto, featured first on 19 September 2012. Songs played include By Your Side Part 1 and Narcissus (Alan Braxe Remix).

Pacific! is a band from Göteborg, Sweden. Childhood friends Björn Synneby and Daniel Hogberg reunited in the early 2000s to collaborate on a set of indie pop recordings that incorporate styles of electronic pop, summery and balearic liken to sounds of Air, The Beach Boys, and Daft Punk.

In 2007, the band had already produced three 12" EPs (Number One, Sunset Blvd, Hot Lips) on Dolores Records in Sweden. The following year, Pacific! released their full-length debut, Reveries on February 27. All of the releases from the album feature artwork by Stephane Manel. The members consider the band to be a “studio” band, but they do tour occasionally.

Reviews from the Swedish press have been reported to describe the music produced by the duo, "as if a pair of flying shoes got a recording contract" and "as if Brian Wilson sang on the tram to Saltholmen to the tunes of Air".

Recently picked up by Alan Braxe’s renowned label "Vulture Music", Pacific!’s retro-futurist identity has met its match. Their sophomore LP, Narcissus draws on conceptual inspiration from the classic Greek myth in its story of unrequited love, unspoken truth and self-effacing emotion, yet all the while retaining the debonair signature sound that has already earned so many followers.
