Zoltan Toth aka Coldfish started listening to electronic music at the late 90s in various radio shows and later in live shows. As he was keen on music, he went to see almost everyone from the scene he could - and had a passion to understand various styles from trip hop to nu jazz. Finally he found his home in house, in 2001-2002 there were many excellent house tracks in the market. These were the best years for progressive house. He met several djs, like Chriss, who inspired him enough to start composing on his own. In late 2002 Chriss already played few Coldfish tracks in his sets in several clubs.
After he felt progressive house is not what it was before, he started to explore new styles. He turned from progressive house to traditional house music. He met Dj Dandy, who was famous from his light house sets at that time, and the friendship became a project between them: The Truefish Project. Their tracks have been played and charted also by Jeff Bennett.
Coldfish made remixes to Quasar (released as free track in November 2004 by Freee Magazin), or to Andro and Yvel & Tristan. His own track also appeared on a free cd (January 2005, Freee Magazin).
At the end of 2005 he signed his first release, 'Loops, lights and dimensions' to FeralCode Records. At this time he made friendship with the Polymorphin duo and started to indulge himself into minimal house. He is inspired by the Detroit and the European minimal-tech style. In June 2006 another of his original track, 'Hungarian hardline', together with his M'Ocean feat. Michelle Chivers - Vertigo (Coldfish Dirty Dub) was signed to and released by FeralCode Records. During the summer 2006 he started his own net-label, IAM Recodings, whom main purpose is to find and support talented producers in Hungary.
He is never satisfied with himself. He always want to do it better. You cannot find too much about him publicly. But his music speaks. Warm up, deep, minimal, epic, house and breaks - thats what it is. Coldfish.
