BlackMonk has been played on NTS shows including Is This Thing On? w/ Hector Plimmer, with Cool Out Factor first played on 28 October 2013.

First discoverded on Poo-bah Records’ debut 2004 release, Day & Night Ep with Ras G, he has since offered a live instrumetal on Plug Research's Sound Of LA Vol. 2, a solo MONK MUSIC EP also on Poo-Bah Records, and has future releases scheduled. His background includes playing keys in a gigging jazz ensemble, studying with great avant horn player Bobby Bradford, and doing session work with artist like Ras G, Ta’Raach, Take, Kutmah, Sacred, and Snoop Dogg. In the mid-90’s Blackmonk worked as an assistant engineer at Music Grinder Recording Studios. Death Row Records frequented the place along with other major Rock, Pop, and R&B labels and artists at the time.
