DJ Oil has been played on NTS over 10 times, featured on 11 episodes and was first played on 13 January 2015.

DJ OIL a.k.a Lionel Corsini (Troublemakers, Blue Note, France) Half of the Troublemakers production unit, dj since the age of 15, and radio show host for 10 years on Marseille’s independent radio, Radio Grenouille, Lionel also has regular shows on France’s Radio Nova, France Inter, Radio Zagreb (Croatia) and FM 4 ( Vienna, Austria). The 1st album of the Troublemakers came out in 2001 on Chicago label GUIDANCE RECORDS and sold more than 80,000 copies. It was soon hailed as a masterpiece of downtempo, cinematic music. Soon after the Troublemakers were signed on BLUE NOTE RECORDS and went on a tour of 45 dates throughout Europe and America. Lionel’s dj set is a musical journey from jazz to today’s foremost electronic musics. In 2004 he toured Montreal, Lisbon, Syria, Belgium, Switzerland in jazz and electronic music festivals, more than 50 dates in total. He played in major clubs with such artists as DJ Food, DJ Krush, Laurent Garnier, Mr Scruff, Eric Truffaz, The Orb, Jeff Mills, The Herbaliser etc… His compilation, which came out in april 2005 showed the eclectic selection of Lionel (Patrick Pulsinger, Jeff Sharel, Carl Craig…). He likes to play with musicians on stage and has dj sets with Julien Lourau (sax), Magic Malik (flute), DJ Rebel (hip hop beats, scratches). He also has regular residencies in Africa ( Kenya, Marocco, South Africa, Burkina Faso), where he likes to confront his musical universe with the traditional sounds of local musicians. Apart from the Troublemakers he also has a side project, Shogun, with hip hop turntables wizard DJ Rebel, and Magic Malik on flute and vocals. They played 25 dates together in 2004. He is preparing his first solo album which is scheduled for 2009, with guests such as Arthur H, Julien Lourau, Camille, Anthony Joseph, Magik Malik… He has done over 400 sets around the world and has had residencies in Tokyo (2003/2005) in Lisbon (2001 to 2005) in Paris (rex, batofar, social club), had a tour in the US in 2003 and 2004, played in more then 30 african capitals, and did over 200 concerts with the Troublemakers and ashes to machines. DJ oil did the opening of several art galleries in Paris including “Palais de Tokyo”, Cinemix at the Louvre, opening of a Agnes b store, a Louis Vuitton store, a music collaboration for a Christian Lacroix fashion show, a Chanel event in Tokyo, and the opening of the Virgin cinema in Tokyo. He will become sound designer for the restaurant Costes in Paris in November 2009.
