The Astronettes

The Astronettes

The Astronettes has been played on NTS in shows including Channeling w/ Ivan Smagghe & Nathan Gregory Wilkins, featured first on 11 November 2014. Songs played include Things To Do and I Am Divine.

Below is the actual liner notes from the back of the album that I own:

"FK YOU. That's right, FK YOU. This is supposed to be the fking CyberSpace-Sex age or some fking thing and I'm sitting here with a fked up Smith Corona typewriter and my wrinkled little pud in my hand. OH WELL. Speaking of space, this here finely-fleshed band of gals puts all those lame instrumental bands to shame. Fk Surf, this is Space! As you might well guess if you're a rock n roll scholar they take the Astronauts (Colorado's mountain kings of rock n roll before they became fking hippies) as their inspiration; every song they do is a fking Astronauts cover, in fact. But unless you're a CD fag (no offense to all my gay amigos, I'm a fag too afterall, just not a CD fag) you haven't heard most of these songs because they never had a proper release on real vinyl until now. And the Astronettes do a fine fking job of it, too; I don't know what kind of crappy old studios they have in France, but this shit actualy sounds good - FK ALL THE "Low Fi" bandwagon jumping, 'cos it's fcking OLD. Sick as I am of surf music, this thing starts the blood rushing even before I go back to oogling the girls in the band. Not only do they all work at the same Paris strip-joint, but they play topless - Fifi tells me that it's because they're "sex positive" and all I can say is WHY THE FK ARE THEY OVER THERE WHEN I"M OVER HERE? Phone sex to France (transatlantic) is fking expensive, so I'm going to have to wait til she calls ME before I pull that again. Oh hell, I'll pull it anyway. Good music to jack (or jill) off to… probably great to fk to… OK, ladies, here are your liner notes now come to play beautiful Coalinga from our f**king "scene".

-Cantinflas Moncada FLIPSIDE (contributing writer) DIRTY F**KING ROTTER (editor)"

Also on the back of the album are Pin-Up phots of the girls and a little bio:

FIFI first learned to play from her boyfriend who played drums for the legendary punk band METAL URBAIN. A Gemini, Fifi is no relation to "Zee ozzer Fifi (Of Teengenerate fame)."

MADEMOISELLE X. is the brains behind these wonders. "We play bon, but we cannot write zee songs, oui? So who cares? At least we know it, and we know zee good songs to cover, The ASTRONAUTS."

CAROL is a true artist, both onstage and in the kitchen. "A lot of people believe that a woman can not play guitar or be a great chef, but zey are wrong!" she exclaims, and who are we to argue?

PATRICIA bass, is the party girl of the Astronettes. "A drink in one hand, a boy in zee ozzer, and I'm a happy camper" she quips between sips.

The album was released on Astro Records in France. Ultra rare, and consists of a total of 13 tracks. Of course the censored words above are not censored on the album jacket.
