Weenie Roast was a San Francisco underground band formed in 1985 by Sidney Merritt, Michelle Cernuto, and Rebecka Wright. They played parties and venues around the SF Bay area (including the Mabuhay Gardens, the Edinburgh Castle, and the Bottom of the Hill.) The band's influences included the Shags, Pere Ubu, the Meat Puppets, Johnny Cash, Spot 1019, Wire, Sonic Youth, and the Avengers.
Weenie Roast released an EP on Kevin Seconds' Positive Force label in 1987, and their song "Flowerpot" was included on the Nuf Sed compilation 'Not All That Terrifies Harms' in 1992.
Weenie Roast disbanded in 1989, but its members went on to play solo and in various other bands, including SF Seals, Throw Like A Girl, The Rarebit Fiends, Blinky, Lava, Lady Cop and Swive.
