Reign Ghost was considered to be one of the leaders of the Canadian '60s underground psychedelic scene. The two eponymous albums released by the band belong to the rarest Canadian psych albums. 'The Flashback - The Ultimate Psychedelic Music Guide' by Vernon Joynson (1988) quotes the original records with the Canadian Allied label as R2 (Very rare) and R3 (Extremely rare).
Most notably, the band featured Lynda Squires (who later moved on to the Toronto cast production of 'Hair') and the guitar talents of Bob Bryden (later of Christmas). Other members were Joe Gallant (bass), Jerry Dufek (bass; replaced Gallant 1968), Dave Hair (keyboards; 1968), Jim Stright (guitar; 1968), Bob Stright (drums; 1968), Helge 'Rich' Richter (drums; replaced Bob Stright 1969) and Russ Erman (bass; replaced Dufek).
Reign Ghost is sometimes compared with Jefferson Airplane and others of that genre due to its male/female vocals, trippy keyboards and guitar work.
