Tatsuro Murakami is a Japanese guitarist and composer.
He grew up in Tokyo until doing an exchange program from Japanese high school to Brazilian high school for a year in 2012. He decided to return to Brazil to study Brazilian culture and music in 2014 and started to record with his progressive rock project “Da Zai” with Andras Ellendersen. Since 2016, he also started to work as a composer/sound designer for short movies, documentaries, art installations, and video art.
In 2020, He graduated from "Tatuí Conservatory of the states of Sao Paulo”, which is one of the most important conservatories in Latin America, specializing in Brazilian Choro / Popular Music on Classical and Brazilian 7-string guitar.
Murakami's composition has a unique sound style which is a mix of Japanese minimal with ambient drone sound and the influence of Brazilian chord progression and melody, making use of electric and classic guitar, electric piano, and synthesizer.
