Maurice & Mac produced a handful of great soul sides during the 1960s.
Boyhood friends Maurice McAllister and McLaurin Green were members of Chicago’s Greater Harvest Baptist Youth Choir before forming the Radiants in 1960.
Recording for Chess they produced some high-quality sides that fared somewhat favorably on the R&B charts, including the cuts “Voice Was the Choice” and “Ain’t No Big Thing.”
