Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Von Pea began releasing music professionally in 2006. His strongest influences are A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Common, & The Roots. In 2004 Von Pea was featured on Phonte and Nicolay’s Foreign Exchange “Connected” album (“Von Sees”) and is considered his breakthough into the indie hip hop scene. Von has released critically acclaimed projects such as 2010’s “Pea’s Gotta Have It” and 2013's "Duly Noted" with Philadelphia producer Aeon. Von is also a member of the rap group Tanya Morgan, who has released 3 critically acclaimed albums (Moonlighting (2006), Brooklynati (2009) , and Rubber Souls(2013)) and toured all of North America and Europe. Von continues to record and tour with Tanya Morgan and will release a new solo project in 2014.
