Belgium (2008 - present)
Sequences is a manifest of soundscapes that are captured and created in the ether between light and darkness. Where the light began, the darkness will end. In the ashes of this project we find a sole member, who will, sometimes by the help of others, represent the sound of a hidden world, buried within ourselves.
Sequences started as a Dark Ambient project in late 2008. The first album; "Vespertine: A Tragedy in Several Tones of Grey" was released on the 1st of November 2009. This debut release features contributions by multi-instrumentalist J. Neblock (Vindensång) and artwork by Cunegonda. "Vespertine: A Tragedy in Several Tones of Grey" mainly focuses on dark abstract themes and consists of layered and experimental Dark Ambient, with influences of Drone & Film Scores. This album is physically released (limited to 75 copies) and can also be downloaded for free. Later, in February 2010, "Vespertine" was physically re-released as a split with the Noise/Ambient/Drone artist Marc Broude.
"The searing rise of sonic scapes portraying the imperturbable depth and infinitude of winter. Sultry feedback saturated static lays foundations for the purest hints of tonal harmony to shine through - they meander and wallow in a glorious middle ground that jostles constantly amidst the furrow of feedback and dirt. The music is for the most part drone oriented, feedback loops and a tension addled atmosphere that constantly hinges on the periphery of outbreak. There is something glistening and beautiful about the work that leaves with a surprising feel of refreshment and serenity." -Lurkerspath.com
