The Arlenes has been played on NTS shows including Country Hayride, with Stuck On Love first played on 21 May 2023.
An acclaimed Anglo-American husband and wife team, it all kicked off 15 years ago when Stephanie and Steve first met in a North London pub. It was actually his first solo show. She thought he had issues with women. Still she agreed to come and sing some harmony with him at his little damp North London apartment. Next came tours, recording and a hip indie label deal, soon followed by a BBC TV show’s and film music credits. The duo were featured on the ‘Rough Guide to Americana’ album, recorded several celebrated albums, videos and singles. Perhaps you remember ‘Spring board’, their sun-soaked paean to the delights of open air swimming and Gospel Oak Lido, which seemed to be ubiquitous some summers ago?
