Palace Of Pleasure

Palace Of Pleasure

Palace Of Pleasure has been played on NTS shows including Bahamian Moor, with Migrant first played on 1 April 2023.

Palace of Pleasure is currently in working in the studio. It's also rumored that a previous member is rejoining!!!

Here's some old news: Palace of Pleasure made their debut on the Norwegian Electronica scene in 1996, and have released six albums, of which two got the Norwegian Grammy award for best dance album.(1998 and 2000 respectively.) The band have also released eight singles, two EP’s and contributed to several compilations, such as Nicolette: DJ-kicks and Sunday Best vol. 3.

The band’s sound is hard to categorise, as P.O.P. play everything they feel like playing, but dubby electronica is often a fitting description. A strong affection for analog equipment, deep bass, and strong melodies can be heard in all of their music, and there is always traces of dub in a P.O.P. track.

Palace of Pleasure have toured in Norway and Europe numerously, and played the major Scandinavian festivals. The band has a very good live reputation, and a strong stage presence. A unique style of filtering and Echoing has been developed over the years, and this coupled with all kinds of live instruments and strong vocals, ensure an unusual live experience for an electronic act. New of the year is a Horn Quartet that blows your mind away.

P.O.P. have also produced music for television, cooperated with performance artists and theatre groups, remixed other electronic acts from the Oslo scene (and a-ha…), and written text and music for a children’s sci-fi radio drama.
