The Shades has been played on NTS in shows including Loose Bones, featured first on 12 March 2023. Songs played include Strolling After Dark.

There are a number of bands under the name The Shades.

One is a band called The Shades formed in 1996 in Cork city, Ireland. Members included Ray Scannell and Graham White (founder members of earlier incarnation Smooth). They were strongly influenced by the likes of Portishead and Massive Attack. Their debut album Explosive was released on Grade Records in 2004.
