Professor Grizzly

Professor Grizzly

Professor Grizzly has been played on NTS in shows including Record Store Rotation: Flashback Records, featured first on 14 December 2013. Songs played include Sandra and Fight The Professor .

Professor Grizzly is a very humble individual who is striving to be the next big star in the Reggae world of music. He was born in the volatile community of Wilton Gardens, otherwise known as Rema. During the height of the revolutionary struggles he relocated to Cockburn Gardens (Cockburn Pen) Kingston Jamaica with his mother and sister. Growing up in Cockburn Pen, Professor Grizzly was no stranger to music, for the simple fact that he shared the same community with musical icons such as Lukie-D, Super Cat, Josey Wales, Daddy U Roy, Lil Twitch, Admiral Bailey and many others. At the age of ten years old he discovered that he had real talents for music. While hanging out at popular recording studios such as King Tubbys and King Jammys with some of the most influential artists, Professor Grizzly was well on his way. He then recorded one of his first hit singles “Shining Star” featuring Lil Lenny on the Stereo Mix label.

It is so easy to be captivated by Professor Grizzly soulful, feel-good vocals and heartfelt lyrics. The Jamaican based singer and song writer has performed at club venues across the Caribbean and the United States. He has shared stage with some of the big names in reggae music, from Ken Booth, John Holt, Cocoa Tea, Gregory Isaacs, U Roy, Marcia Griffiths, Josey Wales and Super Cat, just to mention a few. He has earned spots on countless compilations and has been featured on tracks with many Reggae, R&B artists and rappers. Throughout his career, Professor Grizzly has worked effortlessly to show that he is more than just your average, everyday singer – he is an artist, a songwriter and an outstanding performer.

In addition to having a unique voice, Professor Grizzly is not only able to perform in fundamental reggae genre, but instead he has drawn much attention towards him while performing the art of R&B. Sashi Festival was one of the biggest events in Jamaica. It had attracted thousands of party goers all over the world throughout the years. He was one of the few reggae artists that were given the opportunity to grace the stage. He performed alongside musical icons such as Snoop Dogg, KC & JO JO, Brian McKnight, Lil Kim, 112 and many more. His energy and his soulful voice captivated the audience leaving them breathless cheering on for more. He was offered many requests by producers and promoters to join recording labels and stage appearances over the years----- Yet the successes of his career thus far, has been depended solely on himself.

His mission as a singer and songwriter is to continuously create the very best music for his fans. He is currently promoting his new single from his latest album “How the Youth’s A Live”.
Professor Grizzly is very grateful to God, his family and to his fans. “Grizzly” as he is often called by many, will always captivate the world with his soulful voice and astounding performances.
