There have been many bands called The Night Riders, especially when counts temporary spelling variations of bands such as The Nightriders and The Nite Riders.

The Night Riders, alternatively spelled The Nite Riders, were the backing band of Doc Starkes (real name: James Starkes). They were active in the late 1950s. Before forming this group, all the members had attended several studio sessions and some of them had also done solo recordings. Line-up: James "Doc" Starkes (bass, trombone), Melvin Smith (vocals, baritone saxophone), Harry Van Walls (piano), Harry Crafton (guitar, vocals), Joe Sewell (tenor saxophone), Jimmy Johnson (drums)

The Night Riders, alternatively spelled, The Nightriders, were a garage rock band that released the album "Introducing… The Night Riders" in 1967. Line-up: David Marlette, Jon (Twogun) Johnson, Mac Lewis, Monte Allison, Ray Atwater, Steve Johnson.

The Night Riders, alternative spelled The Nightriders, were the in-house backing band for Marty Roberts.
