Okara were a three piece from Ottawa, Canada who combined punk, hardcore, jazz and country sounds into a lean mean rock’n’roll machine. They are gone but not forgotten with a legacy of seven-inches and their postumous release, the eight-song Months Like Years LP on spectrasonicsound.
Matt went on to play in the Black Halos and currently plays in Black Mountain, Blood Meridian as well as a solo project.
Andy went on to play in Slow Parker and makeshift and did a one-off show in an all-Mark Robinson cover band. He has a new band with Brian from Three Penny Opera and their pal Jeremy which debuts March 15, 2004 opening for Xiu Xiu in Ottawa.
Adam lives in Vancouver and jams with his brother Luke and Matt.
A two CD discography (including their AMAZING demo, two 7”s, split 7” w/ Mothman, LP, unreleased and live tracks) is in the works. http://okara.bandcamp.com/
