There are at least artists with the name Monodrone.
A vaporwave/barber beats producer
A Seattle-based experimental music project active from 2005-2012.
An electronic project by Eric Alan Livingston.
"Nothing is forever. Most is plundered." Monodrone is a Canadian vaporwave and barber beats producer, bringing forth smooth and relaxed jams.
Seattle-native Monodrone was a one-man project determined to bend the standard conventions of music. Armed with only imagination and ambition, Monodrone crafted sonic landscapes which delved into the deepest and most unusual recesses of the mind.
Although active for six years and over a dozen albums, only two were ever released: Wildfire in 2011, and Mare Novum in 2012. Following the release of Mare Novum, the project was officially dissolved, its creator citing a progression to new musical styles as the primary reason.
In a world full of pointless drivel passed off as art, and endless networks of studio clones, running solely off what is fashionable, hip and accessible, comes an artist that reminds us how expression through music can be executed without compromising yourself. Monodrone is a one man operated machine, that is fueled by all aspects of the human emotional spectrum, and isn't afraid to delve straight into the darkest, most vulnerable sides of the human condition. Using analog synthesizers, noisy oscillators, and a plethora of found sounds to craft a sonic palette to set the mood for his tortured voice, monodrone proves that imperfections are meant to be embraced and "intent," is something that music needs in order to be genuine. Monodrone demolishes the routine of monotonous, archaic music by abusing the machines he creates with in an unconventional way, and sends you deep into a well executed, chaos driven, sonic doom ride through anger, frustration and despair. With two full albums, to be released simultaneously, on the way, and a live show that, from the looks of the production quality, will be unforgettable, Monodrone could become an underground sensation, at least, until the sound reaches the masses-Barcode MagazineThere are at least artists with the name Monodrone.
