J-Green

J-Green has been played on NTS shows including NTS Guide to…, with Got Away Clean first played on 21 June 2022.

J-Green can refer to multiple artists.

Jemel Green, better known as JGRXXN, J-Green, or Hollywood J is a producer and rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He started releasing music in the late 90's and is known for being the first to incorporate Memphis-style 90's dark and cinematic beats with Atlanta-style trap beats. Him,SpaceGhostPurrp, Dj Smokey, and Mr. Sisco are the originators of phonk, a genre of rap/trap that started in the mid 2000's - early 2010's. He began his career as a member of the Blac Teflon record label from 2007 - 2012, and was also associated with Three 6 Mafia and the Hypnotize Minds label. He produced for Three 6 Mafia and toured with them for while, but was fired mulitple times, before having a complete fallout with them.

After Blac Teflon, JGRXXN joined the highly influental Raider Klan rap collective in 2012, making music alongside rappers such as SpaceGhostPurpp, Denzel Curry, Yung Simmie, Xavier Wulf, and others. As Raider Klan began to fragment, JGRXXN left to create a new collective called SCHEMAPOSSE in 2015.

SCHEMAPOSSE grew to a sizeable line up of artists and producers, some of which included Lil Peep, Craig Xen, Ghostemane, Wavy Jone$, and several more. Affiliation with similar groups such as Sixset, G*59, and Buffet Boys also helped to attract exposure. JGRXXN was one of the first people to find rappers like GHOSTEMANE and Lil Peep, and helped their early careers greatly. Eventually some of the more popular members began to leave, and JGRXXN formally broke up SCHEMAPOSSE in the beginning of 2017.

JGRXXN would end up reviving the SCHEMAPOSSE project in the same year, with many members being a part of the original 2015 Schemaposse. He continues to release music with the group to this day, though his music output has slowed.

Jalen Armond Green (born January 25, 1999), professionally known as YNW JGreen or JGreen, is an American rapper from Wabasso, Florida. JGreen is most known for his songs “Rugged,” “Up Next,” and “Bonnie N' Clyde” but is also known for being a former member and co-founder of the YNW collective. JGreen is also the co-founder of his independent record label, 510 Music Group.

During 2018-2019, JGreen had faced success and grief throughout the period. During this time, he had managed to release an EP titled Waiting To Exhale (2018) and his debut mixtape, Soul On Ice (2019). Despite the success of his first two projects, Jalen had fallen out with his longtime friend, YNW Melly following rumors about the death of his cousin, YNW Juvy. Prior to fixing his friendship, he had been arrested as the police thought he was Melly.

From 2020 to 2021, JGreen released his second mixtape, 510 (2020) which was somewhat of a success, along with his record label, 510 Music Group. In 2021, he released his third mixtape Waiting To Exhale 2, which included features such as Booka600, Hotboii, PnB Rock, and Jackboy.

Jonathan Lee Jordan (September 28th, 1984 - September 26th, 2016), also known by his stage name J. Green or JGreen863 on social media was a rapper and youth football coach from Haines City, Florida. He was active in the local scene, and released his mixtape, Global, in November of 2014 via DatPiff which included production from Zaytoven. On September 26th, 2016, J. Green was shot in his hometown following an incident whilst coaching a youth football game and pronounced deceased hours later.
