There are multiple artists known as Chaka:
1) Chaka is the stage name of 安則眞実 (Mami Yasunori), a jazz vocalist born July 16, 1960 in Osaka, Japan. She began her career as a singer in a jazz club in Osaka when she was 18. A few years later, she joined keyboardist and guitarist 松浦雅也 (Masaya Matsuura) to form PSY・S in 1983. During their time in a band together, she became recognized in the Japanese jazz scene for her strong, powerful voice. Their collaboration lasted until 1996. She began her solo career immediately afterward, and recorded an album nearly every year from 1997 to 2004. She went on to perform theme songs for various television programs (including 明日へのメロディー featured in the animated series Card Captor Sakura) and collaborations with a variety of artists including Hank Jones, ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI, and CHAGE & ASKA.
2) Chaka is a three-piece 80's punk band based in Brazil, consisting of Shalo (vocals, guitar), Matheus (drums), and Stef (bass).
