Anti Social Workers

Anti Social Workers

Anti Social Workers has been played on NTS in shows including Ventana w/ Félicité Ventilateur, featured first on 2 June 2022. Songs played include Every Dog Has It's Day.

Anti Social Workers were three punks from the London overspill plus crew who spat radical lyrics over wicked dub riddims from legendary reggae producer the Mad Professor. Their debut album on Ariwa Records was hailed by the NME as 'cutting up rough to the dub'. The album 'Punky Reggae Party' (Positive Style) received critical claim in all the music press. They supported reggae legends such as Peter Tosh and Eek A Mouse on tour. Band member Tim Wells (the skinhead) is now a working poet and Paul 'Madhatter' Wellings (on the left with the surgically implanted hat) is now a club/radio DJ, author, and freelance journalist with The Independent for further info www.myspace.com/paulwellings. Influenced by Gil Scott Heron, The Clash, Steel Pulse, The Redskins, The Jam, The Specials etc. Pioneered the sound that led to Massive Attack, The Streets and Jamie T.
