There is more than one artist named Big Hair:
1) Progressive rock quartet from Rochester, NY featuring guitar, bass, drums and fiddle.
BIG HAIR, one of Rochester's most popular post-hardcore, weird "pokin-jazz-metal-country-funk-core" bands formed in 1989 and originally featured the trio of TOD WIRSCHEM (ex-Braintree, ex-Ludivico Treatment) on bass and lead vocals, TOM
MECCA (ex-Twisted Cross, ex-Noxious) on guitar, and FELIX ANDERSON (ex-Ludivico Treatment) on drums. A little over a year later, OBADIAH EAVES(ex-Twisted Cross, ex-Walk Awkward, ex-Noxious) joined on fiddle, giving the band their unique sound and putting them in a different scene all their own. In 1992, Felix was replaced on drums with ANDREW VERSTRAETE (ex-Solution, ex-Noxious) and the band went on to do many wonderful things throughout the rest of the 1990's before calling it quits.
2) Genrebenders extraordinaire, London based Big Hair have been producing and performing their wonky, unconventional house music since 1998. Taking in house, electro, tech-house, techno and minimal with a healthy doss of humour, their output never stays still, As well as productions released under the 'Big Hair' name, they also have a (rather large) hand in projects such as 'Le Grande Boofont', 'Lick the Frog', 'Howlin Hickboy handsome', 'Grey Love', plus a number of related side projects, including 'Ward Clerk' and 'Rea Bonanza'. As well as releases and remixes on a host of labels, including Wiggle, Two Right Wrongens etc, they run their own label U-Freqs, now on its 20th release.
On top of all of this production work, they gig all over Europe from Sarajevo to Scotland, Barcelona to Berne and Munich to Manchester…
