Thorbjørn Grønning (1959-1991) was a Norwegian New Wave/Post Punk musician.
He formed a band called Medium in 1979 together with Christina Krug (Synthesizer) and Geir Lund (tape effects). Grønning did the vocals, keyboards, composing, rhytmn effects and the lyrics. They released one Cassette tape in 1980 called "Død & Dop" (Death & Drugs).
They found inspiration from groups like: Can, Cluster, Pere Ubu, Residents, Joy Division and Throbbing Gristle (which they was personally in contact with). Other impulses came from Iggy Stooge (pop), Sex Pistols and Ebba Grøn..
Medium disbanded in 1981, and Grønning concentrated on solo work.
