Yeat

Yeat has been played over 50 times on NTS, first on 3 February 2020. Yeat's music has been featured on 49 episodes.

Noah Olivier Smith, born on February 26, 2000, in Irvine, California, to a Mexican father and Romanian mother, better known by his stage name Yeat, is an American recording artist and producer from Lake Oswego, Oregon. He is known for his experimental sound—most notably the rage sound, unique choice of words, and unconventional fashion sense featuring a mix of designer brands and balaclavas,

He began rapping in 2017 as Lil Yeat, and, after a slew of singles, released his first EP, Deep Blue Strips, in late 2018. In 2019, Yeat would gain further publicity after “Stay Up,” the lead single off his second project and first mixtape, Wake Up Call, received a music video on the popular YouTube channel ELEVATOR.

Smith released Different Creature, a collaborative EP with Dutch producer Clibbo, on July 18, 2019, to positive feedback. Yeat garnered further attention after dropping his second mixtape, I’m So Me, at the conclusion of the year, collaborating with popular producers like Wheezy, Brandon Finessin, and 10Fifty, among others. Yeat continued to gain traction throughout 2020, releasing two EPs meant to hold fans over until Different Creature 2. The project was scrapped as he worked through label issues before becoming independent in 2021.

Fully in control of his output, Yeat began releasing a barrage of music, including twenty-track albums and countless singles. Yeat saw a major jump in support after his song “Sorry Bout That” blew up on TikTok. Subsequent hits like “Money Twerk” and “Get Busy” as well as a shout-out from Drake helped reinforce his newfound success. On August 5, 2021, Yeat released his newest EP, Trëndi.

In late 2021, Yeat would release his most popular album Up 2 Më and then would later drop 2 Älive and its deluxe, 2 Alivë (Geëk Pack)

On September 9th, 2022, Yeat dropped his highly anticipated EP, Lyfë, which had a feature from Lil Uzi Vert and collaborations with producers such as BNYX and collective Working On Dying.

On February 19th, 2023, Yeat posted a tracklist for Lyfë's deluxe version AftërLyfe on his Instagram story. On February 24th, 2023, AftërLyfe was released with a feature from YoungBoy Never Broke Again and more collaborations with BNYX, Working On Dying, dulio and more prominent producers.

On February 16th, 2024, Yeat released 2093 which helped boost his music further. Tracks such as “Breathe", “Psycho CEO", and “If We Being Rëal became popular through various edits on TikTok. The album proved to be very popular, as it had a futuristic vibe and was not like some of the prior projects that Yeat had released before.

Following on the success of 2093, on October 18, 2024, Yeat released his album Lyfestyle which gained a significant amount of attention, as it debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 200, making it his first number one album of his career, although it dropped to number 70 on the Billboard 200 on it's second week of release. Tracks such as “GEEK TIMË, “STFU, and “FOREVER AGAIN are just a few of the songs on the album which gained a lot of attraction.

It is believed that Yeat is currently working on ADL (A Dangerous Lyfë).
