Noire

Noire has been played on NTS in shows including Akito, featured first on 17 September 2021. Songs played include Turbo Sprog.

There is more than one band with this name:

Noire is a dream pop band from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia comprised of two members, Jessica Mincher and Billy James. NOIRE has consistently created a compelling and versatile sound, best experienced through their debut album ‘Some Kind Of Blue,’ which explores songwriting techniques and sounds from genres such as shoegaze, pop, blues and indie rock. ‘Some Kind of Blue’ was produced by Wayne Connelly (Underground Lovers, You Am I, The Vines), the sound inspired by artists such as Air, David Lynch, Mazzy Star, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Wim Wenders, it takes you on a journey that charts the fluidity of love and loneliness. Originally from the small regional Queensland town, Gympie, Billy and Jess’s pursuits have seen them touring both nationally and internationally landing shows at impressive music venues and events in Europe (details in the answers below), a testament to their ability and their potential moving forward.

Black metal from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Extreme metal has long had a healthy appreciation of orchestral and folk music, but few have taken the final step to both embrace and contrast these genres with a sophisticated take on black metal. Winnipeg's Noire have achieved this in spades. Noire's music demands a full and immersive listen, weaving around a central pillar of majestic metal which draws from Enslaved and Opeth in influence, while the softer moments recall Agalloch's experimentation. Broad-chested chants blend with snarls and fierce guitar lines. After building a reputation around Manitoba, Noire have since expanded their influence across Canada, including Quebec Metal Fest, Calgary Metal Fest, Farmageddon, and Black Mourning Light in Edmonton.
