The Future

The Future

The Future was first played on NTS on 30 September 2021. Songs played include Locked In Madness (Hardcore Mix).

There are, at least, five bands with this name.

1) The band from which The Human League & Clock DVA later emerged. Founded by Ian Craig Marsh, Martyn Ware & Adi Newton in 1977 in Sheffield, UK (see blindYouth.co.uk for further early Human League info.).

2) An indie-pop quartet out of Nashville, TN. http://www.myspace.com/thefutureband

3) A Welsh post-hardcore band Hondo Maclean died and was reborn in the shape of The Future in late 2006/early 2007. The name change reflected a shift in sound and attitude. In May 2008, they announced that they too were to split, but that other projects would be in the pipeline.

4) A Melbourne based, ad-hoc electro group formed by members of The Cat Empire (Ollie McGill - piano/synths) Ambergris (Harry Shaw Reynolds - drums & Dan Marsh - keyboards/synths/samples), True Live (Ivan "Choi" Khatchoyan - drums & Thai Matus - keyboards/synths) and included 'special' guests Aaron Light (drums - 12 Tone Diamonds), Carlo Barbaro (saxophones - The Empire Horns/VADA), Nash Lee (Rabid Hawke/12 Tone Diamonds).

5) A New York City based band. Facebook.com/thefuture

6) Early 1980s punk band from Indianapolis, Indiana.
