Fuze

Fuze

Fuze has been played on NTS in shows including Lee Gamble, featured first on 17 May 2021. Songs played include Anything Goes and Fluctuations.

Fuze is a modern electric jazz-rock band from the Detroit area that creates all original music as well as improvised jams. The band blends high energy rock rhythms with the improvised nature of jazz to create a unique and hard hitting sound.

The band started out as a weekly jam session amongst friends in 1995 and consisted of members Joe Purrenhage on keyboards guitar and bass, Marcus Roland on drums and Craig Wisper on guitar and bass. During these early years, the band recorded a CD Blown which was distributed by the now defunct MP3.COM.

Around the year 2000, Doug Nolls joined the band on bass guitar and taurus pedals. Doug left the band in the year 2005 to spend time with his family. During this time period, the band recorded and released the CD DiG with classic songs such as Complicated Man, Critical Mass and Two Doors Down.

In mid 2005, Dave Kneeves joined the band on lead guitar with Craig Wisper moving to bass. This lineup created a more rock oriented or progressive sound and the band went into heavy improvisational experimentation. This time period was captured on the 2006 release Best of Saturday Night Jams 2005-2006 and contained all immprovised jams from the weekly Saturday Night Jam webcast.

In 2008, the band released a more more commercial sounding CD Pop Fuze which was primarily written by Joe Purrenhage and was recorded and mixed at the Online Bands Studio by the band.

Fuze continues to create original instrumental music and plans on more studio and improvisational CDs as well as the weekly jam session called the Saturday Night Jam
