Hydroponikz

Hydroponikz has been played on NTS shows including Valencia House w/ Yeek, with A Place Called Home first played on 19 October 2020.

Name: Ryan Abugan Birthdate: May 31, 1985 Birthplace: Quezon City, Philippines Residence: Queens, New York

Filipino American hip-hop artist Ryan “Hydroponikz” Abugan has always been infatuated with music. Since learning to play the trumpet in the 4th grade, Ryan grew a passion for creating music in various forms: noodling on the guitar, pushing random keys, and banging on a school desk. Ultimately, Ryan realized that writing lyrics was at the heart of this musical fascination. Using vivid imagery and complex, yet catchy patterns, Ryan can captivate a listener, and virtually place them in his current environment.

Though heavily influenced by the New York 90s hip-hop sound, his main goal is to return to his childish desire to discover new sounds and techniques. Hydroponikz aims to have a fresh and original sound, while still paying homage to those who created a lane for MCs to succeed. Oh, and he makes beats and shoots videos, too.
