Fumio Karashima is a distinguished Japanese musician who inherited the spirit of Elvin Jones, a great jazz giant. He is recognized as a top jazz pianist worldwide as well as in Japan. Due to his worldwide achievement as a pioneer of jazz scene, he won the 31st Nanri Fumio Award of the year 2005.
