The Ability

The Ability

The Ability has been played on NTS shows including Asher G's Caribbean Memories, with Rasta Never Give Up first played on 14 March 2021.

The Ability was an alternative rock/post-hardcore band from Chicago/Oak Lawn, Illinois, United States.

"They" say it isn't wise to go into business with friends…That you'll never come out alive, but once you grasp 'BE STILL', the new debut full-length album from THE ABILITY, you'll begin questioning everything They ever told you to be true.

A fresh rock influence has arrived out of the Midwest, and they're offering you something different; something more than any band has in a long time.

Hailing from Chicago, IL, with massive sounds that loom as large as the city's endless stretch of skyscrapers, THE ABILITY- Craig Hewitt - Lead Vocals/Guitar, Mike Kosch - Bass Guitar, Al Ricco - Lead Guitar and Steve Mac on Drums have spent the better half of the last year in the recording studio with Producer Jonathan Clardy (With Dead Hands Rising, Victorian Halls) where they created, and then perfected their engrossingly large, anthemtic music. Now this October '08 they are ready to unveil their orchestrated passion via Mediaskare/Crazy Lucky Records (As Blood Runs Black, The Messenger), presenting a sound that is brilliantly melodic, yet often mirrors a darker, heavier realism. Throughout, 'Be Still' floats listeners from thought-provoking lyrics to a theme of pause; a moment to appreciate a single second in time that will be gone, possibly before it was even realized. Craig: "It's about finding something that is very special and fragile and then abusing it. It's too much of a good thing. It's about keeping secrets to your self. It's about knowing your real friends."

Members: Craig Hewitt - Vocals/Guitar Al Ricco - Lead guitar Mike Kosch - Bass Steve Mac - Drums
